Chanel Boy Brick Minaudière Paris-Habana White & Black Plexiglass Gold Hardware
Rigid plexiglass minaudière in the Boy Brick format from Chanel's Cruise 2017 "Paris-Habana" collection under Karl Lagerfeld. White plexiglass body with four black plexiglass block accents at the corners. The interlocking brick construction references the Lego-format Boy Brick silhouette Chanel introduced in Spring-Summer 2014, reprised across subsequent seasons in distinct thematic treatments. Body material is PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate), the acrylic compound Chanel uses across its plexiglass minaudière program.
The front face is dominated by a gold-tone metal cigar band plaque running horizontally across the center. "PARIS" appears at left and "HABANA" at right, both rendered in pink lettering against the engraved gold band. A central white enamel medallion houses the interlocking CC logo in black, framed by a ring of faux pearls set in gold-tone metal. The band's format directly replicates a Cuban cigar ring label. Push-lock closure at the top with a white plexiglass tab and gold-tone clasp. Single chain-and-leather crossbody strap in gold-tone metal interwoven with leather. Interior lined in gold leather with two compartments divided by a center zip pocket.

Collector's Insight:
The Paris-Habana collection was shown in May 2016 on the Paseo del Prado in Havana, marking one of the first major luxury runway shows held on the island. Lagerfeld referenced Havana's cigar culture directly across the accessories program, and this minaudière's center plaque is formatted as a Cuban cigar ring label with radiating engraving, pearl border, and brand typography characteristic of Cuban cigar bands. The Boy Brick format itself has appeared across multiple Chanel seasons in distinct treatments (Supermarket barcode, plain color, and here, cigar band), with each thematic iteration produced in restricted quantities for boutique VIP allocation.
Resale Insight:
Boy Brick minaudières were produced in very small quantities for boutique VIP distribution. The Paris-Habana edition exists in multiple colorway variants. Condition concerns specific to plexiglass: hairline surface scratches are cumulative and irreversible, clouding is permanent, and corner block joints can separate under impact. The gold-tone cigar band plaque and faux pearl settings warrant inspection for enamel chipping and pearl loss. Plexiglass minaudières in Excellent condition with intact decorative elements hold resale value meaningfully better than examples showing surface wear or hardware damage.
